Mozart en Anima Eterna Brugge: dat klikt! De meester van Salzburg blijkt steeds opnieuw een ideale match voor het sprankelende, enthousiaste spel van de Anima-musici en de frisse blik van de dirigent. Basis voor de vriendschap: een partituur ontdaan van stoflagen, vernis of sausjes allerlei, en instrumenten die precies die kleuren en klanken tevoorschijn halen die de componist voor ogen had. Dat wordt feesten in mei: Anima Eterna Brugge gaat op tournee met een volledig en volbloed Mozartprogramma. Op het menu: het concerto voor twee klavieren KV 365, met naast dirigent-solist Jos van Immerseel ook diens voormalige leerlinge Yoko Kaneko en twee schitterende pianoforte’s uit het atelier van Christopher Clarke op het voorplan. Daarnaast: de zonnige symfonie nr. 29 en een selectie concertaria’s. In een glansrol: de veelzijdige Amerikaanse sopraan Andrea Lauren Brown, die met deze vocale hoogstandjes bepaald niet aan haar proefstuk toe is. Met een verbluffend naturel spreidt ze de lyrische kwaliteiten en de vocale flexibiliteit tentoon die Mozart van een prima donna verwachtte. Een Mozartiade die muzikaal plezier in het kwadraat belooft!

This May, it’s Mozart all around for Anima Eterna Brugge, with a series of concerts entirely devoted to the Salzburgian master. Combining symphony with concerto and aria’s, the orchestra and its chef Jos van Immerseel serve a menu with an unmistakable Viennese flavor. As an overture to the concert, Mozart’s Symphony No. 29 offers loads of positive energy. The concerto for 2 keyboards KV 365, captures Mozart’s genius in a nutshell. Soloists Jos van Immerseel and his former pupil Yoko Kaneko will play two beautiful copies of Viennese pianofortes from the workshop of Christopher Clarke. Third ingredient of this evening is a selection of concert arias, featuring the multi-talented American soprano Andrea Lauren Brown, whose natural flair, lyrical qualities and vocal flexibility offer exactly what Mozart desired from his leading lady. With this program, Anima Eterna Brugge pays tribute to the oeuvre of one of its favorite companions: always surprising, invariably brilliant, often daring or a bit crazy, but – above all – amazingly fresh and alive.
