Vincenzo Casale began his musical studies with violin and flute talking up the clarinet at the age of 14. He obtained the musical diploma of clarinet at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Turin at the age of only 19. Premier prix of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in clarinet and music theory and Premier Prix of chamber music in the Royal Conservatory of Liege He has also studied in the Accademia Chigiana with Antony Pay and he was followed during his studies by W. Boeykens.
Playing baroque and classical repertoire he became fascinated with historical clarinet and he went to the Netherlands deciding to studying with Eric Hoeprich chalumeaux and classical and romantic clarinet.
He got a Master degree in historical performance practice and historical clarinet of the Royal Conservatory of Den Haag.
With a repertoire from barock till Stravinsky with historical instruments, he has been invited in ensemble such as Anima Eterna, Orchestre de Champs Elysees , Orchestra of the 18th century, Freibourg Barock, Concerto Koln , Les Talens Lyrique, Balthasar Neumann Ensemble ,Les Agremens, Concert Sprituel, Il Fondamento, Das Neu Orchester , Damals und Heute, Opera Fuoco, Philidor, La Chambre Philharmonique, Ecurie et Chambre du Roi , Hannover Bach orchestre, Cercle D’Harmonie…. with conductors like F Bruggen,P Herreweghe, R. Jacobs,T. Hengelbrock, J.C.Malgoire, Jos van Immerseel, H Niquet, G van Waas, S Standage, P. Dombrecht , Emmanuel Krivine.
He is also a member of new Hyperion trio(historical basset horn trio)
In chamber music he plays regularly with Claire Chevallier, Sergei Istomin, Stanley Hoogland, Marcel Ponseele, Paul Dombrecht, Viviana Sofronisky,Roel Dieltiens….
Professor of historical clarinet in Gent Royal Conservatory, he is also Assistant professor in the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and Liege he has been invited also to teach in « Jornadas Internacional Musical Eduardo del Pueyo Granada 2008 », in the Royal Conservatory of Ghent, University of Middle east Ankara and the Conservatorio of Torino, Milano, Napoli and Roma.
He has recorded for labels as Harmonia mundi,Virgin classic,Ricercar Outhere, Zig Zag Territoires and tv and radios as Radio Klara,Radio France,Mezzo, Arte, Rai,VRT,Rtbf,….
