Born in the United States, violinist Evan Few received his primary training at Oberlin College as a pupil of Marilyn McDonald. A founding member of the Jasper String Quartet from 2003-2007, Evan studied and performed the quartet repertoire across the United States, working with many of the world’s great string quartets and chamber musicians. It was in early music, however, that Evan eventually found his focus, and through the baroque violin that he discovered his voice, leading him to pursue further training at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag, where he studied with Kati Debretzeni and Elizabeth Wallfisch.
Now a free-lance violinist equally at home in a variety of repertoires, Evan performs with numerous ensembles across Europe in orchestral and chamber music settings, including Anima Eterna Brugge, Harmonie Universelle, Bach Collegium Japan, La Chambre Philharmonique, La Perla Bizzarra, and Musikverein Berlin. He also performs annually at the Carmel Bach Festival (Carmel, California) and has recorded for Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, Zig Zag Territories, Accent, and CPO. He lives in Amsterdam and is a passionate cook.
